STEP (Systematic Training and Education Programme) is a three-year programme for students who are between 18 to 20 years of age and have completed or are about to complete Class XII. STEP offers comprehensive on the job training in Kitchen Operations or Hotel Operations (Front Office / Food and Beverage Service focus and Housekeeping focus) at select hotels of The Oberoi Group. Alongside training, STEP also facilitates education through a correspondence Bachelor's Degree in Tourism Studies from Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU).
Upon completion of STEP including the undergraduate studies from IGNOU, you are eligible to join The Oberoi Centre of Learning and development OCLD or Oberoi Central Employment Register OCER. The Oberoi Centre for Learning and Development is based in Delhi. OCLD offers a two year post graduate management programme in Guest Service Management, Housekeeping Management and Kitchen Management. Upon successful completion you may get an opportunity to join The Oberoi Group as an Assistant Manager. You are eligible to join OCLD if you have completed or are about to complete your undergraduate studies in any discipline. If you are applying for the Kitchen Management Programme you should have completed or are about to complete a graduate degree in hotel management.

Oberoi Central Employment Register is a database of candidates who are selected to work as Operations Assistants in The Oberoi Group during an annual recruitment process. The candidates are selected through a recruitment drive conducted across locations in India. After being selected during the OCER recruitment, the candidates get allocated to hotels of The Oberoi Group where they start their career as an Operations Assistant in Front Office, Food & Beverage Service, Housekeeping or Kitchen Department. You are eligible for selection in OCER if you have completed or are about to complete your graduation in any discipline or diploma in Hotel Management.

To be eligible for a position as an Operations Assistant, you should have completed your bachelor's degree in any discipline or diploma in Hotel Management and be in the age group of 18 – 25 years. As an Operations Assistant, you will start your career as a Front Office Assistant or a Housekeeping Assistant or a Food & Beverage Service Assistant or a Commis in the Kitchen Department. You may also join as an Assistant in any of the non operations / support functions e.g. in a secretarial role or in Accounts department etc.
